It’s in the middle of February in Hanoi. Spring is all around in the flowers, plants and people. Decoration plants and flowers are sold on Hanoi’s streets and flower markets. Wandering round the streets, getting stuck among beautiful flowers is an interesting experience.
Peach blossom is considered an icon of the Vietnamese New Year (Tet). Almost every family and shop in the north of Vietnam has a tree or small branch in their house. People in the south use mai (apricot flower) instead as peach blossom is only suitable for cold weather.
Here’s some pics from the capital city of Hanoi adorning its streets in the lead-up to the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday and celebrations.
